Fashion Tips for Man

Fit comes first – The most dramatic improvement you can make in your style is to make sure everything fits. Most guys wear clothes that are too large. Make sure everything you wear is almost hugging the curves of your body - without being tight.

Keep it simple – You want a wardrobe that looks great on you but you don’t want to overdo it. For example, don’t wear more than three pieces of jewelry or more than three colors. Don’t dress like a rock star unless you’re in a band. If you want to be flashy, a simpler but stylish look would be sporting a black striped dress shirt with a white blazer, a dark pair of jeans, a white belt, and your favorite pair of shoes. You could also add a flashy watch or a simple accessory like an interesting necklace, but nothing more.

Change the way you see casual - casual doesn’t have to be boring. Have fun with collared shirts, or take some inspiration from those who approach casual a bit differently.

Dress in balance - Some sweaters are lean and others are big and chunky. The first rule of thumb is that your top and bottom halves need to match. If you’re wearing a big, chunky, rugged fisherman knit sweater, your bottom needs to be rugged, too. Don’t wear a fisherman’s sweater with a beautiful silk-and-wool suit pant. Instead, wear it with something as casual as cargoes or jeans, or dress it up with a Harris tweed blazer.

Better overdressed  - Don’t overdo it to a fault, but still take some risks. It’s always better to be a little bit overdressed than underdressed in a situation. All you have to do is think about where and who you’re going to be with and just step it up one notch.

Never underestimate the power of details – The last thing on is usually the first thing noticed. So mind the details instead of throwing together the main parts of your outfit. “Details” can include a scarf, a subtle pocket square, you shoes.

Invest in a good pair of shoes – If it’s one thing that women will notice, it’s your shoes. Especially how clean they are. It’s easy to wash and press the rest of your clothes to keep them looking new, but most guys disregard their shoes. Show you’re a man of taste by getting a nice pair of shoes and keeping them in pristine condition. It’s the fastest way to showing others that you take care of yourself.

Disregard trends – You shouldn’t wear something just because it’s “in” right now. Always build a versatile and timeless (or classic) wardrobe first, and then bring in your own twists with some of the new stuff. This one tip has saved me so much money.

Don’t buy only Brand names -  Before you decide to purchase an item, ask yourself if you are buying it because it’s “in style” or because it genuinely suits you. Ask yourself if you would buy the garment if it didn’t have a logo on it.

Experiment with style – The only way you’ll really learn, is if you go out there and try new things. If you make mistakes, life goes on. So many guys are afraid to express themselves through their style, don’t be one of them.

Brighten up your winter’s day!

Wearing color is the easiest way to brighten up a grey winter’s day. Whether it’s donning a bright dress or coat to frighten away the winter blues, or even as simple as adding a touch of color with a scarf or some jewelry, you’ll find wearing color will bring a smile to you and to those who see you.

Did you know that different colors evoke different feelings and responses from people? It’s sometimes referred to as “The Psychology of Colour”.

Blue is used by some banks and government agencies such as the Police, because it is a trustworthy color. It sends the message: dependable, safe, trustworthy, loyal.

Red = Passion, strength, sensual, power
Pink = Femininity, health, love, confidence
Green = Intelligence, life, nature
Yellow = Sunlight, joy, happiness,playfulness
Orange = Happiness, energy, enthusiasm, flamboyance
Purple = Sensuality, creativity, wealth, royalty

Colour is quite fascinating really. There are some colors which can make people look younger and healthier, and others that can drain them and make them look ill. It’s all to do with the undertone of your skin. You either have a warm or a cool undertone to your skin. Warm being yellow and cool being blue.

So if you have a warm undertone, you will suit colors with a warm yellow base to them. If you have a cool undertone you will suit colors with a cool blue base to them.

Take Red for instance, if you have a true red paint, and you add a bit of yellow to it, you end up with a warm orange-red. If you add a bit of blue to the true red paint, you’ll get a cool blue-red. 

However, when you are wearing a color that doesn’t suit you, any lines and wrinkles, blemishes and dark circles under-eye will stand out more… yikes! You may look more ashen and grey, or slightly sallow, yellow and ill.

Have you ever had anyone say to you “Are you feeling ok today? You look a bit ill.” when you are actually fine? It’s probably because of the colour you were wearing that day. Interesting, isn’t it?

Knowing what colors suit you also saves you time when you’re shopping. You know exactly what colors to try on, and you can pass by entire racks that you know won’t work for you. It’s all about shopping with confidence. You won’t make any more shopping mistakes that end up at the back of your closet!

Fashion Trends Autumn/Winter 2012 is classy, chic, and feminine.

Classy, chic and sexy, the waist has returned! Whether on a belted swing coat, a curvy dress or pencil skirt, the emphasis is on the waist. The fitted shift style dress provides a much-needed antidote to all the trapeze shapes of this past summer. The seriously girlie frock could be on it's way out?  The dress for fall is sexier and edgier -- but not skin tight -- so dresses will remain comfortable."
Mostly inspired by the 70s backward, the idea for next the cold season is being divided into three trends, which are innovative, primal, and synergy, whereas many collections come in 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s styles, with laces, furs, tweeds, and blanket check wool, which some evening gowns are detailed with many frills, ruffles or sequins especially to express the touch of burlesque.

The essential items, styles and accessories trend for this Autumn/Winter 2012 are:

It is the outerwear chosen for the cold season 2011-2012, whether it’s short or long, bolero cape with colorful effect or the British 70s-style tweed. The hood is for everyone, such as the soft and flowing lines as seen on the runways of Chanel, Blugirl, or Mila

Prints are big – whether it is horizontal stripes, geometric, illusionistic, floral, asymmetric, abstract – it’s a playful way to break up any winter blues! Animalier, exclusively  Python is everywhere, and it comes for accessories, coats, shoes, bags, skirts, and plenty other accessories, which Miuccia Prada and Frida Giannini for Gucci rules for the collection. It doesn’t matter whether it’s genuine or faux, since the effect of python skins will never miss any fashion appearance, and this year it comes in colorful palettes, from green, blue, red, yellow, to pink

Minimalist dresses with elegant lines and sophisticated colors are a welcome starting point for winter fashion. Of course you make the look with a maxi coat and fashionable accessories
Color blocking still rocks, not just the neutrals of black and white, but also other fantastic colors which divided into two main groups. The spices, such as yellow ocher, orange, dark red, burgundy, cumin, curry, saffron and paprika, and The mysterious colors between the earthy and the deep sea, such as green wood, oily shades, blue, teal and indigo. Also this year the most important occasions are stained with powder.

High boots and shoes with ankle straps Over knee boots this winter we see a lot. Also remain the platform sandals and high heels with platforms in fashion. Many shoes have wide ankle this winter. The etiquette of knee-length skirts silhouette and palazzo pants with matching shirts are featured in Bottega Veneta with thin straps underneath waisted coats from the 50s, or from Ermanno Scervino with the long coats. Although the classic is reinvented, but the flawless style never goes out of fashion, as there are many details from macramé fashion chic to the traditional little black dress, such as the LBD in perfect Audrey style proposed by Moschino.

 Sheer, sheer, sheer- whether it is sheer mesh or lace by itself or a combined use of both, it is the go to for evening wear – be ready to brave the cold! This has got to be one of my fave trends – in fact it’s a staple use of material in my wardrobe.

Strong tailoring – masculine femininity (think paneled pants, shirts), it’s his clothing for her! But there is also an emphasis on tailored one piece dresses and separates including jackets, blazers, skirts and tops. Panelled pants and panelled contour bodycons have cropped up on a few occassions too to look out for.

 So, be prepared with these trends during the season, we don’t have to buy the entire lines of these luxurious brands in order to be trendy, just follow their way, and with some improvisation suited to our personality and style, we surely are ready to stand out in an amazing look.

Color Trends Autumn/Winter 2012 Jewel Tones

How do you wear it?

This season is the jewel tones instead of bright colors. Like last summer colors play an important role in fashion trends for autumn/ winter 2012.

The gems fashion trend for winter 2011-2012 was a welcome change from all black on the catwalk. Several fashion houses had to clear their color palette inspired by their jewelry box. We saw emerald, sapphire, ruby and amethyst shades pass.
How do you wear it?
The emphasis of this fashion trend is a genuine wealth, different textures and contrasts in beautiful jewel colors. Think of ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green, amethyst purple and yellow sapphire.
With such strong colors, it’s best to opt for clean lines and cut, because the texture is the only decoration you need. Invest therefore an intense color, like purple, red, yellow, mustard, blue or green, you have in your whole outfit processed. If you find this too much, you can also combine with black tights or a piece of skin, as a bare shoulder.
If you yourself do not want to wrap from head to toe in one color, with jewel tones can also color blocking. Do not be afraid to combine colors, because remember this is winter, the brighter the better. You can therefore with confidence with red or green, yellow and purple mix.

Accessories
In terms of accessories, this fashion trend not need much. A nice pair of heels and a clutch his lot. Of course, both items that have them look for the ultimate gemstone aligns the color of your dress.
